Composing
and Production Testimonial: It has been a tremendous growth process artistically for both the Beledi Ensemble and the Southern Methodist University Dance Division this spring. I commissioned the Ensemble to compose 45 minutes of music for an evening-length work. The music was for film, live performance and dance with video art. The music produced was an excellent blend of their expertise as musicians and their creative abilities as composers to bring the director's intent to life. A strong work with a variety of texture and feeling was created. The Beledi Ensemble is a group I would not hesitate to work with again. Marica Plevin Testimonial: Working with Jamal Mohamed and the Beledi Ensemble was a great pleasure for me. We did a small ballet together and called it "Trio". It used three dancers on the floor and three musicians performing fascinating rhythms to the dreams of the dancers.
